Planning and Protocols
Drug and Alcohol Testing requires advance planning customised to your staffing resources who may or may not be able to assist with any non-negative tests.
Non-negative being defined as a failed first breath test, whereby a supervised waiting on thirty minutes is required before the second breath test is administered. Further supervision is required whilst obtaining a blood or urine sample for laboratory analysis.
The number of employees screen in one nurse / day with vary according to the follow factors.
- The number of client employees who can be made available in advance for training before assist with supervision should non-negatives occur.
- Mediright with no assistance from client employees to administer and supervise any non-negatives.
Advance planning and consultation is required to ensure the appropriate facilities are available and prepared in a timely fashion.
Where appropriate facilities are not available a mobile unit is available.
